Our History
Faith Baptist Church was founded in 1978 by Pastor Claude Williams. They used a few locations to meet until the church building that is in current use was completed in 1986. Pastor Williams and his wife, Sharon, faithfully served in the church until the Lord moved him to pastor in Blackstone, VA. We are grateful for their faithful years of service and for Pastor William’s burden to reach Staunton for Christ.
Faith Baptist has been blessed over the years with long standing pastoral leadership. Pastor Floyd Crouch was a tremendous blessing to our congregation for over 10 years. During this time the church was able to purchase property, and add to the facilities building a fellowship hall in 2000. The church was able to take on a number of missionaries. Bro. Crouch felt the Lords leadership to Pastor in North Carolina. We thank the Lord for him and are delighted to now have him back here with us in his retirement!
After a season of seeking God’s face and leadership concerning a pastor, in June 2008, Pastor Eric Brown was voted on unanimously. We are grateful for his leadership and following the Holy Spirit while pastoring our congregation. The Lord has allowed our church to grow and we have the privilege of taking part of several ministries year round, as well as supporting a numerous missionaries.
As with any church, we’ve seen many changes over the years, but are grateful for the Lord’s leadership in every area. In 2015, we added on and renovated our main Sanctuary/Sunday School Hall. The results were well worth it, thanks to the hard work of our members.
We have plans to add to our facility as the Lord allows. We are looking forward to seeing how He continues to bless!
